Cambridge Foundation School, Rajouri Garden was established on 4th July 1966 by the Cambridge Foundation Society with an aim to provide “Excellence in Education and All round Development”. It all started in a residential building in Rajouri Garden, when a small nursery and kindergarten was started in the home of Mrs Sheila Verma and her husband the late Mr Brem Dutt Verma under the guidance of late Shri BS Murthy, former Minister for Health and Family Planning, Govt. of India. The school was recognised up to the middle level in 1969. Milestones in the growth of physical plant of CFS were added with the foundation stone being laid by Ms. Sheila Verma along with the school children and the dedicated staff on 2 nd October 1977. The school was shifted to its present premises at Rajouri Garden extension New Delhi 27 on April 29, 1978. The School has a sprawling campus of 4 acres.

Gradually CFS took shape and burst upon the educational scenario in west Delhi with vibrancy and freshness. It attracted the local community from the very start and it grew rapidly. It was upgraded to the senior level in 1979. Under the dynamic leadership of Ms. Sheila Verma and Late Shri BD Verma, the institution acquired its full fledged Senior Secondary School status affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Affiliation No. 2730051. It is with their vision that we have now moved four decades ahead. They have been our guiding light by providing a platform of enrichment by institutionalizing a highly qualified faculty and the most loving students. Today the school is housed in 4 acre campus. The 3 storeyed structure has separate wings for different sections and departments. Its warm and safe ambience is very conducive to learning. The school receives immense support from its parent community and staff. The collaborative effort of all is responsible for the progress of our students which facilitates the growth of the school.

The progressive environment at CFS is an amalgamation of academics, theatre, art, debating, discussions, seminars, clubs and workshops, all being intelligently designed and promoted at school. Games, indoor and outdoor athletics, yoga, aerobics, scouting, music, dancing, picnics and excursions have an important place in the term wise planned school calendar. These myriad of activities are possible because it is the “love for learning” that drives each endeavour that a Cambridgean sets upon. To develop academic excellence the school offers a wide syllabus with careful planning and guidance to enable the student’s independent thinking and self expression. This is reflected in class XII results that we manage every year in the CBSE Board Examinations year after year. Opportunity is given to each student to acquire the values and belief that will guide him/her throughout their life. Group activities in the school inculcate in the students team spirit, feelings of patriotism and teach them values of sharing and caring. The ideals of quality and excellence with emphasis on human values, commitment and discipline help to mould the student to adopt a modern progressive and international outlook with a secular nature... The school believes in imparting Holistic Education to the students which will lead to the development of-Head, Heart and Hand so that they efficiently discharge their duties to themselves, to the community, to the nation as a whole and to humanity at large.

Upholding the school values, our enlightened, creative and forward looking Principal Ms. Anita Puri and Director Ms. Meena Malik are competently holding the school banner high. The introduction of smart boards is a cognizant move for further enhancement of knowledge, to foster the ability of every child to grow to his maximum potential. Our faculty and staff earnestly hone our student’s academic achievement, character and creativity. Excellence is nurtured and groomed to achieve our vision in order to provide an environment that promotes lifelong learning and independence of thought.

The school continues to strive for excellence in all areas and exposes the students to the latest pedagogic innovations. While the school emphasizes global thinking it also believes in preserving our own culture and ideology, the traditional Indian values of humility, modesty and reverence. The school motto STRIVE TO RISE truly speaks volumes about the quality of education which the school imparts and the values it stands for. CFS tirelessly strives to create a learning atmosphere where mind is without fear and head is held high.
