Annual Day Class 4 Class IV celebrated its Annual day on 2nd February 2019 with the theme
of the Republic Day. The Republic day, a festival of Democracy and
transformation of India into a Republic, was celebrated with enthusiasm, and
cheerfulness. The celebrations commenced with the lighting of the auspicious
lamp, by the School Manager, Ms. Meena Malik and Principal, Dr. Anita Puri.
Dr. Anita Puri presented the School report, highlighting the achievement of
the School, during the academic year 2018-2019. The students presented the
sequence of events starting from Non-cooperation Movement, Jallianwala Bagh
tragedy, Bhagat Singh's martyrdom to gaining of independence by India. The
students also provided a glimpse into the making of the Constitution of
India. Through the ballet the children apprised everyone about the
fundamental rights and duties bestowed upon the Indian citizens by the
Constitution of India. The joy and pride was amply visible on the faces and
reflected in their enthusiasm with which the whole event was performed. The
parents also attended the event and felt ecstatic, proud and satisfied, all
at the same time, on the grand show presented by their children. The
children lived through the era and showcased it in a manner bringing alive
the memories of the whole struggle of India through scintillating
performances which were appreciated by the entire audience.
Multi-Speciality Health Camp
A Free Health Check-up Camp was held at the School in association with BLK
Hospital on Saturday, 2nd February, 2019. Organizing such multi-specialty
camps in service to mankind has been a regular annual feature at CFS. The
event was inaugurated by Principal, Dr. Anita Puri, with whose initiative
the health benefit programme was conducted for the advantage of parents and
Highly experienced faculty members from the BLK Hospital were in attendance
examining and guiding the anxious visitors with professional advice.
Consultation was being provided for Cardio, Ortho, Onco, Dental, ENT
problems. The Eye Check-up camp attracted special attention.
Various free tests for BP, RBS, BMD, ECG etc. were arranged and the entire
event was carried out in a highly systematic, methodical, structured and
professionally efficient manner. All visitors lauded the inventive approach
and commendable work done by the School.
Bidding Adieu - Class of 2019
The Farewell Ceremony for the students of Class XII (2018-2019) was
organized School Auditorium on 2nd February 2019, with great fervour. The
day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together. The function began
with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by Principal Dr. Anita Puri and the
School Manager Ms. Meena Malik. The children were dressed immaculately and
looked resplendent. The chief attraction was the Questions and Answers round
and the coveted titles awarded to students. Mr. and Miss. Cambridge title
was bagged by Rishabh Malhotra and Tia Kapoor respectively. Other Titles
conferred were the Sword of Honour to Devum Pruthi, Technological Nerd to
Suvrat Kumar, Incipient Writer to Ria, Miss Magnanimous to Harsimar Kaur.
Vanshika and Khushi mesmerised all with their dance performance on Fusion
Track. The event culminated with the students dancing together on the floor
and a sumptuous meal thereafter.
Celebrating Basant Panchami Basant Panchmi is celebrated in reverence to the Hindu deity
Goddess Saraswati, the epitome of learning, music & art. People celebrate
this day by visiting temples, flying kites. To celebrate the festival, the
students of Class 3 presented a special programme in the Morning Assembly. A
Prayer and a Pledge were followed by a speech stating the significance of
this day by the students of Class 5. The spring of joy took over when a
ceremony worshipping Goddess Saraswati was led by offerings of spring
flowers. The students also performed a traditional dance on Saraswati
Vandana. The students enjoyed the celebrations with great enthusiasm and

Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha - Road Safety Week
The School observed the 30th Road Safety Week between 4th and 10th February
2019. The campaign and initiative by the Directorate of Education and
Ministry of Transport aimed at sensitizing the community, Schools, etc.
about the various aspects of road safety. The message of this week-long
celebration was Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha. Principal Dr. Anita Puri, and
Manager Ms. Meena Malik, ensured Special Morning Assemblies propagating the
importance of Road Safety and Following Traffic Rules, through out the Week.
Several activities and programs were organized in the School to educate the
children on Road safety driving rules and areas of special caution. For the
children of Classes 1 to 5, a drawing competition was organized, in which
the children showcased their artistic skills on Road Safety. The students of
Classes 6 to 8 participated in a Quiz competition, aimed at helping to
stimulate the student's involvement in promoting Road safety awareness all
the year around. The students of Classes 9 and 11, attended a workshop
organized by the Hero Moto Corp. Ltd. The Resource Person, Mr. Sunil
Malhotra, apprised the students about various aspects of road safety - use
of correct helmets, following traffic signs and symbols and avoiding road
rage. A quiz was conducted after the presentation to assess students. The
winners were applauded and given in order to boost their morale.
National Deworming Programme
The National Deworming Day an initiative of the Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare, Government of India to make every child in the country worm
free. This is one of the largest public health programs reaching large
number of children during a short period. All the States/UTs implement
bi-annual round of deworming. The School successfully conducted the 1st
Phase of Deworming Program on 8th February, 2019 followed by the MOP-UP day
on 14th February, 2019. The students were sensitized about the benefits of
Deworming in a Special Morning Assembly. The campaign spreads awareness
about importance and benefits of deworming, as well as prevention strategies
related to improved behaviours and practices for hygiene and sanitation.
CBSE Workshop on the Evaluation Process
The CBSE conduct a Workshop 11th February 2019, at Sadhu Vaswani
International School, Shanti Niketan. School representatives from all over
Delhi were invited to apprise them about the changes CBSE has introduced for
the smooth conduct of the forth coming Class X and XII Board Examinations in
March ’19. The CBSE has insisted on an Error Free conduct of the Board Exams
and the Evaluation after the examinations so that students and parents have
greater trust in CBSE. The School was represented by Sisira Vishwanath (TGT
Awareness Campaign on H1N1 The School conducted a Special Campaign on generating awareness
on the H1N1 - Swine Flu Virus. A special programme in the Morning Assembly
was organized in which a short play was presented regarding the prevention
of H1N1. A PowerPoint presentation was shown in all the classes informing
the students of how the H1N1 Virus spreads and how preventive measures can
be taken. An informative email was also sent to all the Parents which will
help them understand the H1N1 Virus, its causes, preventions and symptoms.
National Science Day - Seminar
National Science Day is celebrated every year by the National Council for
Science and Technology Communication (NCTSC) to commemorate Prof. C. V.
Raman's discovery of the Raman Effect. In Delhi it is celebrated by DSST
Forum, this year's venue of celebration was Adarsh Public School, Vikas Puri,
New Delhi on 27th February 2019. All the Forum members along with teachers
from all over Delhi attended the event. Eminent scholars and scientists
shared their views on how to promote Science in the true spirit. Senior Vice
President, Dr. Gautam Sen, spoke about the energy crisis and gave combating
solutions. Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kumar, Head, DESM, NCERT, highlighted the
motto of Science and how to keep pace with ever changing scientific world.
The event was attended by Ms. Vibha Prabhakar (TGT, Science).
Celebrating Maha Shivratri
The popular Hindu festival of Maha Shivaratri or 'The Night of Shiva' was
celebrated on 28th February 2019, with immense devotion and
religious dedication in honour of Lord Shiva. The students of Classes 1 and 2
presented a small event in the Morning Assembly, which commenced with an
introduction about the importance of celebrating Maha Shivratri which was
followed by a graceful dance performance in honour of Lord Shiva which was
