Cyber Uday - Cyber Security Awareness Workshop
The Cyber Crime Unit Special Cell of the Delhi Police, conducted Cyber Security Awareness Programme – “Cyber Uday” on 2nd December at the BGS International School, Dwarka. The main focus of the event was Cyber Security and Safe Internet Usage. Shri Anyesh Roy, Deputy Commissioner of Police told the students that they should be very careful while downloading unknown items, beware of unsolicited messages, and should not to be tempted by dubious content. They were also advised not to share their passwords and personal information with anyone online. He also guided them that they should share with their parents if anything is worrying them. The interesting and informative programme was attended by a group of 150 students from Classes 6th to 8th. The children were accompanied by Ms. Anjana Gupta (TGT) and Mr. Mahender Kumar (PET).


CBSE Capacity Building Programme - Inclusion and Inclusive Strategies
The CBSE teaching training workshop is an initiative to adapt teachers with best of skills to foster a positive learning Environment in classrooms. CBSE, Centre of Excellence hosted a two day Capacity Building Programme on Inclusion and Inclusive Strategies. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Sandeep Jain (Head of CoE) and Ms. Anjuman Bains (Psychologist). It was attended by the School Teachers, Special Educators, Counsellors and Psychologists. On the first day, the workshop started with the basic understanding of inclusive education and participants were briefed about the significance of inclusive education through many engaging activities and discussions on how to cater the special needs of the CWSN. The focus of the workshop was the inclusion of children with special needs in classroom with other children. On the second day, the participants were briefed about how to prepare differentiated lesson plans keeping in mind every student in the classroom. Participants were asked to give presentations on various disabilities, their definitions, symptoms and its intervention strategies through PPT, Charts, role plays, poems etc. The workshop provided the participants with an opportunity to equip themselves with the various strategies and effective ways to respond to the needs of the children with any kind of disability in an inclusive set up. The two day programme was attended by Ms. Gunjani Kumari, Special Educator.


Cambridge Foundation School Wins State Level Science & Mathematics Competitions
The School added another another feather in its cap by winning the State Level Science & Mathematics Competition. The Prize Distribution ceremony was attended by Mr. Manish Sisodia, Dy. Chief Minister, Delhi and Ms. Rathnasree Nandivada, Director, Nehru Planetarium.

Celebrating Vijay Divas
They crushed our enemies and our sorrow

Vijay Diwas was celebrated on Monday in the School with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. This Day is observed on every 16th December, to celebrate India’s victory over Pakistan in the Indo-Pak War of 1971 for the liberation of Bangladesh from Pakistan. The end of the war resulted in the unilateral and unconditional surrender of over 93000 Pakistani soldiers. Morning Assembly was conducted by the Students of Class II. Students apprised the whole assembly about the significance of the day and the Class II chorus sang a medley of patriotic songs. The performance of the children was applauded by the Principal, Dr. Anita Puri and Manager, Ms. Meena Malik.


Khadi Divas
To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, CFS organized a Khadi Divas in the School on Monday, 16th December, 2019 when all the members of the teaching and administrative fraternity donned themselves in Khadi attire. Khadi, as we all know was Gandhi Ji’s preferred fabric. He made it a movement to strengthen self-reliance and sustenance of rural India. A Special Assembly was held in the morning where students highlighted the importance of wearing Khadi. It is the heritage fabric of India which not only provides employment to rural artisans but also promotes unity and equality. The atmosphere was full with excitement and it was a befitting tribute to the vision of Mahatma Gandhi. Additionally, Khadi is skin friendly fabric that does not leave carbon footprint. The event was a voluntary initiative of Principal, Dr. Anita Puri.


CBSE Capacity Building Programme On Gender Senstivity
A Capacity Building Programme on Gender Sensitivity was conducted by CBSE at Guru Harkishan School, Fateh Nagar on 19th December, 2019. The resource person Mrs.Neera Kohli. She laid emphasis on maintaining gender equality at home, in School and at work places. No discrimination should be made between boys and girls when assigning them duties or when it comes to choosing subjects in senior classes. The workshop was attended by more than 30 teachers from various schools across Delhi NCR Region. The informative workshop was attended by Ms. Yasmin Paul (PRT).


Hindi Language Workshop
Madhuban Educational Books, a leading Publisher organized one-day Hindi Language Workshop at Mount Abu Public School. During this one day session, Dr. Usha Sharma covered various aspects of Hindi Language Teaching (Speaking and Listening Skills in real life situations, writing for communicative purposes and reading texts). She emphasized on the latest developments in the research of language education. The focus was to help language teachers enhance their teaching strategies and techniques to work across a range of language & skill levels in the classroom. The workshop was attended by Ms. Jyoti Rampal (TGT Hindi).


Annual Day & Prize Distribution of Class III
The students of Class III hosted their Annual Day & Prize Distribution on 21st December, 2019 in the School Auditorium with pomp and gaiety. Yug Sehgal and Manmeet Kaur were the avid anchors of the show. The traditional “Dia Lightening Ceremony” was conducted by the School Manager Ms. Meena Malik and the Class teachers. Ms. Meena Malik presented the School Report for the parents. After that, the Prize distribution ceremony was conducted to felicitate the meritorious students. The center of attraction was the ballet “Shakti - The Feminine Source of Power’ performed by over 190 students which showcased the 9 Avatars of the Hindu Goddesses where they played a central role in the creation and protection of the Universe. The students dressed in colourful costumes presented a myriad of sensational dances. The day came to an end with hearts filled with ravishment and eyes filled with pride. The auditorium reverberated with the thunderous applause of the mesmerized audience in appreciation of the wonderful performances by students and astounding efforts of intellectual faculty members. The programme concluded with the singing of Sampoorn Rashtriya Gaan.

Wow! what a joyful day for every child. Yes it’s Christmas time. Christmas the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Soaking in the spirit of Christmas the tiny tots of Class 1 celebrated the festival with enthusiasm on 24th December, 2019. The students presented a special presentation in the morning assembly with a small play to showcase the birth of Lord Jesus and importance of this festival. The students also danced to the tunes of We Wish You A Merry Christmas, and Joy to the World. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children, and appreciated by all present.


CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Secondary School Assessment
The CBSE conducted a one day Capacity Building Workshop for Secondary School Assessment on 23rd December, at the CBSE Delhi Center of Excellence, Patparganj, which was attended by Ms. Sisira Vishwanath (TGT English). The resource persons Ms. Pallavi Sharma and Ms. Neeta Rastogi, talked at length about the Portfolio. How it is to be compiled and what all has to be incorporated in it. They also talked about the question paper pattern to be followed by Schools.


Environment Day
The School held an Environment Day Celebration on Saturday, December 28th, 2019 with great zeal and fervour. A project dedicated to the cause was initiated and inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Anita Puri culminated with the students of all three wings, Junior, Middle and Senior contributing their might with tremendous enthusiasm. Various events such as wall-paintings in the Assembly area, poster-making, slogans, live project demonstrations etc. were showcased depicting the plight of the environment and thus the dire need to protect the same from any further decay. The event was a stupendous success with each student contributing profoundly under the guidance of their teachers. It was conducted to create additional awareness for action for protection of the environment amongst students, parents and the community.
The Junior School students displayed the importance through songs highlighting the need for preserving the environment while the middle school children focused on showcasing the environmental disaster by showing a dolphin dying due to water and air pollution and the Senior School students concern was reflected through projects like negative environmental effects of stubble burning and deterioration of the human anatomy due to polluted air. They also elaborated extensively on the projects and their implications to the parents present on the occasion thereby creating a deeper appreciation of our connection to nature to them as we face major environmental challenges.
The Principal, Dr. Anita Puri emphasized the need for greater environmental leadership now than ever before by stressing on the need for increased Protection, Preservation and Enhancing of the environment. She further stated that there is no better place than a School to start teaching children about the need to keep our environment free of air, water and noise pollution and because it has a deep impact our daily lives.


Graduation Day
The School organised the Graduation Day for the outgoing Class XII students on December, 28th 2019. The institution reverbated with activities and equal degree of frenzy and enthusiasm. The event began with the invocation and blessings of the almighty by lighting of the auspicious lamp. Principal, Dr. Anita Puri addressed the gathering and commended and applauded the scholars on their achievements and eulogised them to remain focused and have a clearly defined aim to grow and evolve in all aspects and guided them to enrich their lives by reading good books. This was followed by the speeched of a few parents of each stream expressing their sentiments and gratifying the School for shaping the personality and future of their wards. A few students too talked about their experiences at CFS. "Citations" were awarded to each student who was recognised for his/her special qualities. The momentous event culminated with the presentation of a medley presented by the students of Class XI who decorously presented the entire program. The School Manager, Ms. Meena Malik, shared her thoughts and words of encouragements with the outgoing batch. Towards the end a short film Nostalgia was strikingly impressive.
