Annual Day - Class II
The Annual Day of Class 2 was celebrated on 1st December 2018. The students
participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The show commenced with the
lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the School Manager, Ms. Meena Malik. The
School Report was presented by Ms. Malik, highlighting the achievements of
the School and the students. The programme began with a Welcome song on the
policies and attainments of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narender Modi.
The children presented a short play showcasing importance of Trees. This was
followed by a presentation displaying the life of Sh. Jawaharlal Nehru. This
was followed a spectacular Bhangra and a melodious Qawwali. The ceremony
concluded with the Grand Finale. Kashvi Mahajan and Alisha Jain were the
anchors for the show. Each event was immensely appreciated by all the
Orientation Programme - Eat Right Programme
The Food Safety And Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and Safe and
Nutritious Food (SNF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare conducted an orientation session for the Movement – Eat Right
Creativity Challenge. The session was held at Mt. Abu Public School, Rohini.
The programme promotes healthy dietary habits amongst children aligned with
Gandhiji’s thoughts on food and nutrition. The primary aim of the movement
is to spread the message of good health and provide healthy citizens for the
future. The informative session was attended by Ms. Meena Bhatia (TGT).
Dealing With Examination Anxiety and Stress To deal with the pressure and stress levels associated with the
upcoming exam season, the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural
Sciences, organised a workshop in the School Auditorium on 4th December
2018, as a part of the Fortis School Mental Health Program. The resource
person, Tanushree Sangma, equipped the students with strategies towards
smarter goal setting, improving memory and concentration, time management as
well as coping mechanism to bust exam stress effectively. The combined
efforts of our Principal, Dr. Anita Puri, Manager, Ms. Meena Malik and Dr.
Samir Parikh, Director, Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences
will surely be going to help the students in combating with the stress of
exams and appearing as a winner all over.
CBSE - Capacity Building Programme - Mathematics
for Classes 9 and 10 A Capacity Building Workshop was organized by the CBSE at St.
Matthew’s Public School, Paschim Vihar for Mathematics of Classes 9 and 10.
The aim of the workshop was to involve the students in each and every
concept of Mathematics. The resource persons Mr. Kartikey Bhardwaaj and Ms.
Shikha Gautam explained how to involve the children in the concept by using
the examples from day to day life using any kind of material from
surroundings. The workshop aimed to enhance the thinking skill of average
students and help them apply the innovative and creative methods to create
the concept class. The workshop was attended by Mr. Raju Kadyan (TGT, Math)
Workshop on Mind Mapping and STEM Technology
A workshop on Mind Maps Learning techniques and STEM Education was conducted
at Columbia Foundation School on 4th December 2018. Mind Mapping is a visual
representation of scientifically proven techniques to enhance and facilitate
learning and are applicable to all. It attempts to concise the lesson in a
structured manner to fosters concept clarity and improve power of retention.
These techniques stimulate brainstorming and help the child to explore any
idea, concept or problem, thereby enabling the children to overcome their
learning challenges. The Resource Person, Mr. Sandeep Solanki, (NITI Aayog),
informed the attendees who to incorporate these techniques in teaching-
learning environment and also how to assist the children to identify key
points and structure them to understand and retain the concepts. The
workshop was attended by Ms. Rekha Ahuja (TGT Math) and Ms. Kanika Juneja (TGT
Pearson's English Workshop
Pearson's Publishers organized a workshop for English Teachers – English For
The Future on 7th December at the Piccadilly Hotel, Janakpuri. Dr. Vasanthi
Vasudev, an English Language expert and a renowned author, was the key
speaker. The session was interspersed with fun-filled and thought provoking
activities. The primary agenda of the event was how the English language has
evolved and what changes may be expected in the next decade. Dr. Vasudev
also stressed that listening and speaking skills should be stressed more on
as compared to reading and writing skills. The informative workshop was
attended by Ms. Sarika Arora (PGT English).
Workshop on Mathematics
A workshop on Developing Mathematical Thinking was conducted on 15th Dec
2018 at Brahma Kumaris Gyan-Vigyan Bhawan, by the Sparc Wing of the Rajyoga
Education and Research Foundation. The Resource persons were, Dr. Sudhir
Singhal, and Dr. Aditi Singhal, both Guiness World Record Holders, In the
first session Dr. Singhal, explained various methods of teaching
Mathematical concepts to develop thinking skills and problem solving skills
of the students. To ignite the mathematical mind, she applied the abstract
methods in a concrete way. In the second session, Dr Sudhir Singhal, focused
on various Mathematical games related to Integers, Algebra & Linear
Equations. At the end emphasis was on Value Education empowered in the class
rooms. The workshop was attended by Ms. Abha Gupta (PRT) and Ms. Rekha Ahuja
Bhasha Sangam Programme
The School conducted several activities under the Bhasha Sangam Programme,
under the nuances of the Government of India, which initiated the program "Ek
Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" to celebrate the spirit of national integration.
Bhasha Sangam, An amalgamation of different languages of our country was
undertaken by department of School Education and Literacy to mark India’s
richness by her cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity. The program aims
to provide multilingual exposure to students. During a Special Assembly two
students from each class spoke a few sentences on different languages which
were repeated by all the students congregation. The activity commenced on
20th November 2018 and continued till 21st December 2018. The event was
conducted for enhancing the respect for various languages spoken in India.
The effort aimed at creating unity in diversity.
Annual Day - Class III
The Annual Day of Class 3 was held on 22nd December 2018, in the School
Auditorium. The ceremonies commenced with the Lighting of the Ceremonial
Lamp. The Choir presented the achievements of the Hon'ble Prime Minister
Shri Narendra Modi in a captivating song. The School Manager, Ms.
Meena Malik presented the School Report. The highlight of the day was the
Ballet - The Story of Christ, which depicted the life of Jesus Christ from
his birth to his Crucifixion and Resurrection. The performance was
appreciated by all present. The ceremony culminated with the Grand Finale in
which numerous Santas distributed sweets amongst the audience.
The School wore a festive look on 24th December, when the students of Class
I, presented a special assembly to celebrate Christmas - the birth of Lord
Jesus Christ. The Christmas themed attire of the students and the melodious
Carol singing had the entire audience mesmerised. The dance presentation to

Graduation Day Class of 2019
The Graduation Day for Class XII was held on 29th December, 2018 with
immense fervour. The entire School was abuzz with activities with an equal
degree of excitement in all, the students and teachers. The events began
with the invocation of the blessings of the almighty by the Lighting of the
auspicious Lamp by the dignitaries present on the occasion. This was
followed by an address by the Principal, Dr. Anita Puri, who complimented
the graduating students on their achievements. The Principal’s address was
followed by the Hon'ble Guest of Honour, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, a famous global
personality in the field of academics and Dean of Health Sciences at Ansal
University addressing the congregation. He guided the students by laying
emphasis on the significance of proper planning in life and reminded that
those who fail to plan, plan to fail in life. A few Parents from each stream
also expressed their sentiments of gratitude for the School in shaping the
personality and destiny of their wards. Some of the passing out students too
shared their own developmental experiences. In between, Citations were
announced where each student was recognized for his or her special
qualities. The students of Class XI kept all entertained with their
melodious Medley. The short film, "Nostalgia" too grabbed everyone's
