CBSE Capacity Building Programme - Happy Classroom
CBSE organized a Capacity Building Programme on 5th August 2019 at the ITL Public School, Dwarka. The programme was designed to train the teachers for the Prospective Resource Person Programme on Happy Classroom. The programme started with the introduction of the Resource person Dr. Smita Desai Co-Founder and Director of Drishti Foundation by Dr. Sandeep Kumar Jain, Deputy Secretary, CBSE who himself is the CBSE Master Trainer for the Programme. Dr. Smita Desai talked about how we can bring in the changes in the classes by first making a change in ourselves by doing Self Awareness and also Awareness of others. Various methods were discussed and small activities were done to understand it better. The other aspects of our daily life like Self Management, Self Motivation, Relationship Management and Social awareness were also discussed. Dr. Sandeep Jain discussed the other topics: Why students misbehave? ; Putting Emotions in the Class with Role Plays, Dancing, Singing etc. Dr. Sudha Acharya, Principal, ITL Public School, Dwarka discussed various case studies and several videos were shown related to them. In the end Dr. Biswajeet Saha, Director CBSE also paid a small visit and asked about the session.


Scrapbook 2019 - FICCI Conclave
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce organized a workshop on Children’s Publishing Enclave – Scrapbook 2019 on 10th August 2019, at the FICCI Auditorium. The conclave entitled Diversity of Content stressed on th contribution of all institutions for growing knowledge and content. It was important to conduct a survey on reading habits to find out people’s behavior for books. The session was then presided by the Chief Guest. Prof. Govind Prasad Sharma, Chairman, National Book Trust, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. He said that Children’s imagination should be improved through stories and poems and publishing houses play very important role in this regard. The session was then taken over by Dr. Hrushikesh Senapaty, Director, NCERT, Govt. of India. He emphasized on cognitive development of children and teacher-student relationship. The session was really educative and informative. The educative workshop was attended by Ms. Sonal Vij (PGT, Commerce)


Celebrating Eid-Ul-Adha
Eid-Ul-Adha, the festival of sacrifice and commitment of Allah's orders was celebrated in a special assembly under the aegis of our Principal, Dr. Anita Puri and Manager, Ms. Meena Malik. The students of Class 5 explained in detail the importance of the festival by delivering a Speech. A Qawwali on "Aaya Tera Deewana" created a very pious atmosphere in the assembly and was enjoyed by the CFS Fraternity praying that may Allah bless us in all circles of life.

CBSE Capacity Building Programme of Secondary School Assessment (RAS)
The School hosted a one day Capacity Building Programme on Secondary School Assessment (RAS) under the initiative of the Central Board of Secondary Education on 10th August 2019, in the School Auditorium. The Resource persons, Dr. Girish, Former Associate Professor and Ms. Neeta Rastogi, Former Principal, Sadhu Vaswani School. The session commenced with Dr. Girish highlighting the self-awareness or assessment of the students in which she emphasized the different stages of assessment by gathering information, recording the information, then analyzing the situation and using the information to improve the student’s skills. Ms. Neeta Rastogi apprised the attendees the practice of adopting good questioning techniques. Dr. Girish provided guidelines for portfolio and subject enrichment activities, she also explained the advantages of portfolio, concerns and implementation of portfolio. She also stressed on the need of inculcating Co-scholastic activities for holistic development of students. The Resource persons also elaborated on the analysis of the Question Paper as per thinking level of revised Blooms Taxonomy by adopting various methods like Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating & Creating. The workshop was attended by Ms. Jyoti Rampal (TGT Hindi). Ms. Neeru Sohi (TGT Science) and Ms. Manju Arora (TGT Science) were the facilitators.


Celebrating Raksha Bandhan
Raksha Bandhan is one of the most delightful ways to celebrate bond between brother and sister. The School celebrated Raksha Bandhan with great zeal and zest. A special assembly was conducted by the students of Class 3. The children expressed their views about the importance of celebrating the auspicious festival, which was then followed by a graceful dance performance showcasing love, care and respect in the beautiful relation of brother and sister. The performance was appreciated by the Principal, Dr. Anita Puri and Manager, Ms. Meena Malik and all the students.

Celebrating Independence Day
"Yeh Baat Hawao Ko Bataye Rakhna,
Roshni Hogi Chirago Ko Jalaye Rakhna,
Lahu Dekar Jiski Hifazat Humne Ki
Aise Tirange Ko Sada Dil Me Basaye Rakhna"

The School celebrated our Nation's 73rd Independence Day with patriotic fervor and gaiety. The National Tri-colour was unfurled by Principal Dr. Anita Puri and the environment resounded with the National anthem. The students of Class 2 under the guidance of the School Principal, Dr. Anita and Manager Ms. Meena Malik, presented a Special Programme commemorating India's freedom on August 15, 1947 during the Morning Assembly. The children spoke about India's victory and the importance of the Day. The students also presented an enjoyable and rhythmic dance routine on patriotic songs. Another group of students presented a song declaring their love for India. The entire presentation was appreciated by everyone.

National De-Worming Day - 2nd Phase
The National De-Worming Day, an initiative of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, to make every child in the country worm free. This is one of the largest public health programs reaching large number of children during a short period. All the States/UTs implement bi-annual round of De-Worming. The School successfully conducted the 2nd Phase of De-Worming Programme on 8th August, 2019 followed by the MOP-UP day on 16th August, 2019. 405 students were registered from classes VI-XII for the programme. 360 students were given De-Worming tablets (Albendazole 400mg) on 8th August, 2019. The remaining 45 students took the tablet on, the MOP-UP day i.e. 16th August, 2019. The campaign spreads awareness about importance and benefits of De-Worming, as well as prevention strategies related to improved behaviour and practices for hygiene and sanitation.


Good Parenting Workshop
It is always said that "Parenting is not easy". To understand children and handle them in a much better manner, the School arranged a Parent Interaction Session ON 17th August 2019, with the Clinical Leaders of Mom's Belief OT 4 KIDS under the guidance of Principal Dr. Anita Puri and Manager, Ms. Meena Malik. The Topic of the Workshop was “Good Foundations of Love and Values, Strong Walls of Boundaries and Discipline, Building Resilience and Self-Esteem for Life". Dr. Roma Kumar, a renowned Psychologist and Senior Consultant at Mom's Belief explained in detail; How to keep children in discipline; Setting rules for them and also how to make sure that the same are followed; various case studies were discussed. It was a very inspiring session for parents-well enjoyed and well learnt.


CBSE Capacity Building Programme - English
CBSE conducted on a two day Capacity Building Programme for Class XII English teachers at Hansraj Model School, on 20th and 21st August 2019. The workshop was greatly inspiring and beneficial. Apart from the lessons discussed we were made aware about the ASL skills for classes 11th and 12th, that will be conducted as internal examination and the assessment of the written, listening and speaking skill record must be maintained. The purpose of the visit was to upgrade and enhance our marking scheme that has been changed during this academic session. The teachers were also informed that the ASL and Internal activity to be conducted in the School itself. The workshop was attended by Ms. Sarita Kapoor (PGT English).


Annual Prize Distribution (Seniors)
The Annual Award Ceremony for Classes X and XII and the Middle School Classes was held on 24th August 2019. The event was attended by Shri Anurag Singh Thakur Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Shri R. P Singh a former member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly from BJP, and National Spokesperson for BJP, and Shri Subhash Arya, the former Mayor, South Delhi Municipal Corporation. The programme proceeded with the lightning of ceremonial lamp. The choir presented a self composed song - Yeh Bharatvarsh Mera. The Annual School Report was presented by the School Principal, Ms. Anita Puri, highlighting the CBSE School Toppers, and the inclusion of the ATAL Tinkering Lab, the CBSE Hubs of Learning Programme. Our distinguished guest Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, enlightened the students through his words of wisdom instilling greater faith and confidence in tomorrow’s students. The distinguished Guests awarded the meritorious students of Classes, VI, VII, VIII, X and XII. The students presented a ballet on the Life of Shri Krishna, which was much appreciated by all. An Odissi dance was also presented. The ceremony concluded with the Grand Finale.


Janamashtami Celebrations
The students of Class 4, celebrated Janmashtami by conducting a Special Assembly. The students presented a dance portraying the love bond of Sudama and Shri Krishna, with great zeal and agility. They depicted the inseparable friendship of the two by their act. With their laudable performance, they lit up the atmosphere and mesmerized the audience. The efforts of the tiny tots were appreciated by Principal, Dr. Anita Puri and Manager, Ms. Meena Malik, and all present.

Prevention of Vector Borne Diseases
In compliance with the guidelines of The Delhi Government, in spreading the information on prevention and control of vector-borne diseases such as Malaria, Dengue and Chikungunya, the CFS fraternity under took the task of sensitizing students during the morning assembly about prevention and control of mosquito-genic diseases through Nukkad Natak. The children presented a list of do's and don'ts and encouraged students to wear full sleeves clothes and many other measures. In-house rallies were conducted to bring consciousness among the students to make each one aware of these problems. A documentary was shown in Classes I - V to make the students understand the health related problems faced due to VBD. The students acted as ambassadors to spread information and messages for prevention and control of vector borne diseases.


Capacity Building Programme - Social Science
CBSE organized a two day Capacity Building Programme on Social Science at S. D. Public School, West Patel Nagar on 27th and 28th August 2019. The objective of the workshop was to update the teachers teaching the subject with the latest changes introduced by the CBSE in the assessment, evaluation and the syllabus. It was a refresher for the teachers regarding the multiple intelligence they have to deal with in a class and the teaching methods one should keep in mind while dealing with students of all types. The resource persons; Mr. Madan Sawhney & Mr. Joginder Kumar also dealt with the variety of question types to test different faculties such as the memory, understanding, application, analysis, etc. and the strategy to make a balanced paper. Guidelines were also given on marking of internal assessment and project work pertaining to the subject. The workshop was attended by Ms. Seema Kapoor (TGT, Social Science).


Capacity Building Programme - Accountancy
CBSE organized a Capacity Building Programme on Accountancy on 28th and 29th August 2019 at Army Public School, Shankar Vihar. The session was initiated by Mr.S. S. Sehrawat, Deputy Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya. He explained design of Question paper according to CBSE syllabus. He emphasized on the contents of the syllabus that should be read by every teacher thoroughly and followed. The session was then taken over by Mr. Gaurav Palia, PGT Accountacy, DAV School. He explained different techniques to teach Accountancy in classes XIth and XIIth and how to make it more interesting. He also discussed short cut methods to be taught to the students to teach difficult topics. The session was really educative and informative. The two day programme was attended by Ms. Sonal Vij (PGT Commerce).


Annual Prize Distribution (Juniors) & Annual Day Class V
The Annual Prize Distribution for the Junior Classes and Class IX & XI and the Annual Day of Class V was held on 31st August in the School Auditorium. It was presided by the Chief Guest Ms. Monika Bhardwaj, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Delhi. Yawin and Mugdha were the zealous anchors of the show. The graceful dancers presented the Welcome - Diya Dance, which mesmerized everyone. The School Manager Ms. Meena Malik presented the Annual School Report by highlighting the achievements of the School.The Chief Guest Ms. Monika Bhardhwaj, gave away the prizes to the academic achievers and encouraged the students to move ahead in life and become the valuable citizens of the nation. The little angels danced to the tune and presented the Krishna Dance. To save and protect the Girl Child the little birds performed on the tune of 'Ori Chiriya'. The star attraction of the show was a Ballet to depict the life of a soldier which was greatly applauded by the audience. The students in neon tri colour dresses and bold stunts presented the captivating 'Grand Finale'.
